She was one of the famous “Bunn Sisters”. Eloise was a member of some of Jake Lankford’s outstanding sextets in the 1930’s which went undefeated five consecutive seasons. She won all-tournament honors in the 1930 tournament and average 35 points per game without missing a free throw. She scored 83 points in a game during the 1930-31 season and average 31 points per game when Waresboro went undefeated in 30 games. She led Waresboro to another undefeated season of 28 games in 1931-32, a tournament title and was name captain of the all-tournament team. She average 27 points a game and again, not missing a free throw during the entire season. Waresboro again went undefeated in the 1932-33 season which included wins over two junior college opponents, won the district title and the South Georgia crown.
Eloise attended South Georgia College and persuaded the President to form a girl’s basketball team which was coached by the late Dr. A.M. Knight, Jr. The college sextet was undefeated for the seasons of 1933-34 and 1934-35.
